Chisels and planes are two of the most useful bench tools for a woodworker. This class offers a balance of explanation, demonstration, and practice, with the emphasis on practice. John will discuss the types and purposes of chisel and plane blades, sharpening stones, hones and grindstones. You’ll learn how to grind and hone tools using a method known as the micro bevel. You will become confident with this style of sharpening so you can easily revitalise your own tools.
