In this six-week beginners’ course you will learn the basics of wood carving through an ornamental design project.
Students will be introduced to all the fundamentals of carving that will enable them to get started, including sharpening, care and maintenance of carving chisels, tool choices, transferring designs onto timber, the correct sequence of steps required to produce any carving design, tool control and how to apply a basic oil and wax finish.
All materials and tools will be provided.
